it's that time of year... :)

...when the world falls in love with every song [it] hears.

I always love that lyric from "The Christmas Waltz" (even after finding out it's slightly wrong).
This Christmas has been different, for sure--my daddy and sister are both miles and miles away, but at the same time, I'm so thankful for the opportunity to spend so much time with my mommy this past week :) much more so than I usually do, since I normally pack my breaks with plans with friends.

So much to reflect on for this past year, this past semester, but in a word, God is good. He's taught me so much about studying and schoolwork, leadership (in IV), relationships, and desiring to know Him more. :) One possible resolution for 2011...blog more.

twenty ten.

wheee. first new post of the year (and it's not even timely)

anyway. was supposed to blog a little more but ended up reading sister's old fanfics, haha. man, pressing space with my left thumb is foreign and a bit difficult. but the fireworks were worth it :)

so i'm not sure what this post is supposed to be...probably more of a mental note of what to post about when i find some more time next week XP aka...
100 things (read: resolutions/prayer requests)
specks and logs (on hypocrisy and how i am a terrible committer of it, especially in accepting help)
reflections on semester one? or has it been too long...
thumb thoughts (i can't do this alone...or anything, for that matter)

praying that i'll use the remaining eight days i have in htown to the fullest :) thank You, God, for family and friends

olives

(so here continues the attempt to blog...daily? at least more often)
(leslie chang, you make me laugh so hard. i wish i saw you more.)

man. sound of music is one of the most amazing movies ever. makes me feel so good inside :) the power of music! whooo.

i still have so much to reflect on...but since i don't have much time, i'll just recap some stuff from today (ie service when i visited hca for the first time on sunday :D)
so we started the message by singing this hymn called..."olives that have known no pressure". it was really good :) just such a great reminder that in order to prune us, to REFINE us with His fire, to prepare us for His coming, God is constantly working in us. and sure, sometimes it sucks, it's hard...or so we think. but if we really reflect on God's purpose, His perfect and loving will for us, we have the reassurance that He will continue to fill us up as He disciplines us. it's all for His glory (and, along the way, our bettering :D) isn't that awesome? God is amazing. even in His discipline, in the trials we undergo, He is there. never giving us more than we can handle :)
after all, "In the place of what Thou takest, Thou dost give Thyself to me."

thank You. :)

it's about time...

...that i got a blog.
so here's my first post, humble and small.

but i hope to be blogging a lot more, in 2010 and beyond (wow, can't believe that's right around the corner...)
anyway. yeah, i guess it could seem that i'm jumping on the blogwagon of college kids, but i've really been feeling the urge to get one...to finally dump all my thoughts, reflections (when i give myself to have any) somewhere.
and what better place than the internet, right? :P

plus. i want to subscribe to all the awesome bloggers i already know XP
